OSI Board Face-to-Face Meetings

The Open Source Initiative is a private, California 501(c)3 corporation, but our mission includes a public mission, and one way we fulfill that mission is by making public appearances and holding board meetings in full view of the public. We have found that face-to-face discussions help us understand and engage topics of interest that do not always make it to public mailing lists or discussion groups, and so we remain committed to holding at least one, and as many as four, annual public board meetings.
The OSI board is presently composed of directors and observers from at least six countries across southern and northern hemispheres, and across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It is expensive and time-consuming to bring everybody together, but we believe it is worth the time and trouble to serve the public with face-to-face contact and participation.
